But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, i will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not skaie it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is ike a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great." Luke 9:46-49 (NKJV)
We are known by our actions. That is the precursor to the "But" in v. 46
Both men wanted to build a house.
Both wanted a shelter for their family.
Both houses looked exactly the same on the outside
That is where the similarities end

"For no one can lay any foundation other that the one we already have - Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11 (NLT)
The Church
- A place of refuge for sinners
- Refuge is not a place to escape the storm but safety during the storm
- The foundation deos not guarantee the structure built on it
- It is not just church attendance, but it is in the service
- It is not just faith, but our actios that reflect that faith
- It is not just fellowship, but about forming meaningful relationships
- It is not just lip service, but TRUE obedience to Christ as Lord
